More tickets go on sale for Headline Concerts!

Extra 1,500 tickets released for each concert: The Levellers and Björn Again

Bjorn AgainEvent organisers of The Tall Ships Races 2011 - Lerwick have released an extra 3,000 tickets for the two headline concerts at The Tall Ships Races 2011 - Lerwick.

1,500 tickets for The Levellers concert on Friday 22nd July and 1,500 tickets for Björn Again on Saturday 23rd July will go on sale on Saturday 11th June at 10.30am. Tickets will be available in person from the Shetland Box Office in Islesburgh Community Centre, by telephone on 01595 74 5555 and online from Shetland Box Office.

The concerts, which will be held at the Holmsgarth arena will begin at 6.30pm until late, and will also be projected live on a large 46 square metre video screen, ensuring the best possible views for all concert-goers.

The tickets, priced at £20 (£15 concessions) for The Levellers and £15 (£10 concessions) for Björn Again, are limited to four tickets per person per concert. The Levellers will be supported on stage by Eat Dr Ape, The Stagger Rats and Oscar Charlie. There is also a full line up of local artists in support of Björn Again, including perennial local favourites, No Sweat, and the long awaited return of Shetland's internationally acclaimed band, Rock Sail & Nails.

LevellersFiona Dally, project manager of The Tall Ships Races 2011 – Lerwick, said: "We're delighted to be able to offer further capacity at Holmsgarth arena for the duration of the event, and also for our concerts which have proven to be incredibly popular.

"We have been working closely with the site owners, Lerwick Port Authority and the Local Authorities, to look at ways of increasing our site capacity, whilst ensuring we maintain a comfortable area for all users of the arena, both for concert-goers and those without tickets who want to visit Tall Ships and other event attractions in the area.

"We hope that many more locals and visitors can take the opportunity to purchase tickets for what promises to be a fantastic weekend's entertainment."

As with previously released tickets for the headline concerts, these will be issued as ticket "vouchers" which will have to be exchanged for event wristbands prior to the concert to gain entry. The ticket exchange will be at the event information points which will be located at Holmsgarth and Victoria Pier, and full details on wristband collection will be posted at prior to the event.

All other music events will be free at both Holmsgarth and the Victoria Pier stages and at the Club Marquee, which will run at Laurenson Quay in the evenings, featuring local DJs and visiting DJ, Tam Coyle who is the Resident DJ at 'T in the Park'.
