Aberdeen Harbour Board comes onboard as Host Port Supporter
Aberdeen Harbour Board has become the latest sponsor to give its support to The Tall Ships Races 2011 – Lerwick.
It is expected over 2,000 crew and 10,000 visitors will be in Shetland when The Tall Ships Races 2011, presented by Szczecin and organised by Sail Training International, visit Lerwick Harbour on Thursday 21st July till Sunday 24th July. Some 54 ships have already signed up to take part, among them the magnificent Wylde Swan from the Netherlands.
Colin Parker, chief executive of Aberdeen Harbour, said: "We are delighted to be involved in sponsorship for the Tall Ships' visit to Lerwick this year as a Host Port Supporter. Our two ports have a long history of both passenger and freight links that are hugely important to both economies.
"We hope the Tall Ships event is a great success for the crews and the many thousands of locals and visitors at the quaysides."
